Tension and Compression Load Cell FL51 uses metal foil strain gauge technology to deliver 1.5mV/V rated output with 0-500N / 0-1000N / 0-2000N / 0-3000N / 0-5000N / 0-10kN / 0-20kN seven rated measuring ranges to choose from. Each sensor is integrated with a 2-meter-long 4-core shielded cable,the cable comes with a free end which makes it easy to assemble any types of connectors for electrical connection. A load cell (or loadcell) is a transducer which converts force into a measurable electrical output. Although there are many varieties of loadcells, strain gauge load cells are the most commonly used type which is comprised of a solid metal body on which strain gauges have been secured to form a wheatstone bridge which delivers mV/V output.
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of transducer FL51 is around 1.5mV/V.
Power supply is within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of FL51 is normally within -22.5mV...+22.5mV for both tension and compression measurement.
Example: Pull and Push Load Cell FL51-20kN with 1.5mV/V rated output powered by 3.3V DC,the output range is -4.95mV...+4.95mV proportional to the load being applied.
A signal conditioner can be used to convert mV signal into 0-5V/0-10V/4-20mA for easy signal processing.
Example: Tension Compression Sensor FL51-5kN working with amplifier FSC(-10-10V)-24V,the force-voltage relationship will be 0-5000N compression force VS 0-10V output, 0-5000N tension force VS 0-(-10V) output.
