A load cell (or loadcell) is a transducer which converts force into a measurable electrical output. Although there are many varieties of loadcells, strain gauge load cells are the most commonly used type which is comprised of a solid metal body on which strain gauges have been secured to form a wheatstone bridge which delivers mV/V output.A Wheatstone bridge is a network of four resistive legs. One or more of these legs can be active sensing elements. The Wheatstone bridge is the electrical equivalent of two parallel voltage divider circuits. R1 and R2 compose one voltage divider circuit, and R4 and R3 compose the second voltage divider circuit. The output of a Wheatstone bridge is measured between the middle nodes of the two voltage dividers,under constant power supply, the output signal between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally,thus the load/force/weight can be measured by measuring the output signal from the wheatstone bridge.
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of thin load cell FMXD is normally within 1mV/V~2mV/V.
Power supply of low profile weight sensor FMXD is within 3-12V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of weight transducer FMXD is normally within 0-24mV(-24mV...+24mV for tension compression force measurement).
Example one: FMXD-300N with 2.0mV/V sensitivity powered by 5V DC,the output range is 0~10mV.
Example two: FMXD-1kN with 2.0mV/V sensitivity powered by 10V DC,the output range is 0~20mV.
