Miniature Compression Transducer FC8E is made of stainless steel based on metal foil strain gauge technology intended for compression force measurement. Subminiature button load cell FC8E offers 0-50N / 0-100N / 0-200N / 0-500N four rated measuring ranges to choose from. Micro compression load cell FC8E is featured with only 8mm outer diameter and 6mm total height which makes it extremely suitable for force measurement applications where mounting space is limited. Typical applications for smallest compression sensor FC8E are such as clamping force measurement, force overload protection, load distribution analysis, pressing die force measurement, auto equipment, assembly line and so on. A load cell (or loadcell) is a transducer which converts force into a measurable electrical output. Although there are many varieties of loadcells, strain gauge load cells are the most commonly used type which is comprised of a solid metal body on which strain gauges have been secured to form a wheatstone bridge which delivers mV/V output.
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output is normally within 1mV/V~3mV/V.
Power supply is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the load cell output signal is normally within 0-45mV(-45mV...+45mV for bidirectional load cell).
Example one: Smallest Compression Sensor FC8E-500N with 1.0mV/V rated output powered by 5V DC,the output range is 0~5mV.
Example two: Smallest Button Load Cell FC8E-200N with 1.0mV/V rated output powered by 3.3V DC,the output range is 0~3.3mV.
A signal conditioner can be used to convert mV signal into 0-5V/0-10V/4-20mA for easy signal processing.
Example one: Smallest Compression Transducer FC8E-100N working with amplifier FSC(0-10V)-24V,the load-voltage relationship will be 0-100N compression force VS 0-10V output.
Example two: Smallest Compression Load Cell FC8E-50N working with amplifier FSC(4-20mA)-24V,the force-current relationship will be 0-200N compression load VS 4-20mA output.
