A Force Sensor is a transducer that converts mechanical load into mV signal proportional to the applied force.The acting force causes deformation of the measuring element,the bonded strain gage deforms accordingly which will cause the resistance change of the wheatstone bridge,under constant power supply, the output signal between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally,thus the load/force can be measured by measuring the output signal from the transducer which is normaly within -30mV...+30mV.A signal amplifier can be used to convert the mV signal into 0-5V / 0-10V / 4-20mA for further signal processing. Load cell zero output(Zero Balance):The output signal of the loadcell with no-load applied,expressed in mV/V or as a percentage of rated output.The zero output is caused by the stress during strain gauge bonding,it can be handled during calibration or signal processing without affecting the measurement accuracy.Brief instruction of Rated output(or Sensitivity):
Definition: The signal produced by load cell(or force transducer) when rated load is applied, expressed in terms of mV/V. The rated output indicates the output signal range of a sensor.
Sensor output = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of column load cell FCRF is around 2.0mV/V.
Power supply of cylinder load cell FCRF is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of compression load cell FCRF is normally within 0-30mV.
Example one: Compression force sensor FCRF-1000kN with 2.0mV/V rated output power by 5V DC,the output range is 0~10mV.
